All About Principles

For me, it’s more about principles. I believe that we are all endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights, and among those are life, liberty, and property. The ability to protect one’s rights, also known as the right to bear arms, is perhaps the most important of our natural rights. This is what our founders believed, and it is what I believe. The Constitution was written and ratified by men who feared the excesses of a national government, and they clearly stated the federal government’s limits, granting all powers not delegated to it, to the states. Federalism does not divide our country. It unites it by allowing each region its own sets of laws and traditions. The Constitution does however, grant certain roles to the federal government, one of which is immigration. Sanctuary cities and sanctuary states are acts of nullification, and should not be tolerated.

Disability Backlog

People are dying before they get disability, before they even get a hearing. The disabled are losing their homes while the federal government owes them thousands in SSDI back pay. Why do we accept this and why aren’t more politicians speaking about this issue? I guess there isn’t any lobbyist for the disabled.

Social Security

Bottom line, Americans are compelled to participate in Social Security. Therefore its solvency and the Disability backlog must be addressed.

The Administrative State

Some people call it the Fourth Branch. Whatever you call it, they are an unelected branch of government, accountable to no one. The President has done well to scale back regulations. We need to do more.

Separation of Powers

Per the Constitution, lawmaking is to be done by Congress, and adjudication by the Judicial Branch, yet the Executive Branch does both.

Opiate Addiction

How can anybody, with a straight face, in the midst of this opiate crisis, deny cannabis treatment to somebody who is willing to use it instead of pain pills? Are we really this dumb?

Medical Marijuana

I am federalist. Allow the states to make their own laws regarding marijuana. The notion that it is worthy of Schedule 1 is absurd.

Illegal Immigration

A country without borders is not a country. Those who oppose a border fence should have the fences in their gated communities removed.

Foreign Government Lobbying

Foreign government lobbying should be outlawed. In the very least, people like Podesta, and Manafort should be exposed as foreign agents. What a shameful way to enrich yourself!

Foreign Aid

I don’t oppose foreign aid if it is in our best interest. But could we not at least use this money as leverage for something, anything? Instead, we write them a check, then bend over, grab the ankles

Foreign Policy

I am a realist, which puts me at odds with both the neocon and the radical libertarian. Both are ideologues, opposed to reason.

Tariffs

A tariff is a tax, but it acts as a subsidy for the few at the expense of the many. History has shown that it is bad economic policy. Also, presidents should not have this power, per Article 1.

Renewable Fuel Standard (ethanol)

Ethanol provides no environmental benefit, but has been proven to actually cause harm, as well as destroy small engines. This mandate should be done away with yesterday.

Spending

Every Republican who voted for that Omnibus Spending bill should be ashamed of themselves. I would never, not in a million years, vote for such a monstrosity.

Taxes

I support making the tax cuts permanent. Our government does not have a problem raising revenue. It has a spending problem.

Economy

I believe in free markets, free trade, and free people. Government should get out of the way. Taxes should be low, and regulations few.

Civil Asset Forfeiture

Civil Asset Forfeiture is a clear violation of the fifth amendment. The idea that law enforcement can take someone’s property without them having been convicted is outrageous. It’s tyranny.

Second Amendment

The right to bear arms, or the right to protect one’s unalienable rights, is fundamental. Regardless of what they say, many on the left really do want to take your guns. Don’t let them.

Big Brother and the Deep State

The last presidential administration spied on journalists, and utilized the intelligence apparatus to spy on their political opponents. We have to hold our government accountable for these actions.

Civil Liberties

Our rights come from God, not government, as stated in our founding document. Government should protect these rights, not infringe on them.
